What “take control” does and does not establish

Its scheduled window is September 28 at 20:20 UTC through September 30 at 09:02 UTC, and its short description advertises new enemies, levels and heroes. This is an event announcement, not a list of playable hero kits, a release log, or proof that any specific new hero is available in the current client.
The developer-group owner's September 27 announcement previewed controlling one of three heroes or letting heroes fight automatically. A September 28 owner announcement then said the Heroes Update was out and named new heroes, levels and enemies. These dated public statements corroborate the update announcement; they do not show a current control button, a per-hero kit, or a verified client session.
A newly renamed pass record
The Roblox pass API now lists Vanguard Hero without the earlier [SOON] prefix and describes a heavy rail hero with a shield and airstrike. It is marked for sale, but the listing is not proof that Vanguard is playable or a fourth member of the current advertised trio.
A hero tier list needs the current in-game cards, abilities, cooldowns, and repeatable matches. Names alone do not justify combat roles or rankings.
